The Heads of International Election Observation Missions present in Sierra Leone: the African Union, ECOWAS, Commonwealth, and the West Africa Elders Forum are concerned by the inflammatory language circulating on the social media.

In this regard, they appeal to the citizens of Sierra Leone to continue exercising patience and restraint as they await the final declaration of results of the 24 June elections by the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone.

Moreover, the Heads of Missions urge all Sierra Leonians within and outside the country to refrain from any inflammatory language that could lead to violence, loss of lives and the destruction of the country.

They further call on the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone to ensure maximum transparency in the processing and release of the provisional and final results of the elections.
