This report is submitted in follow-up to the communiqué on the 136th meeting of Council held on 12 June 2008 during which Council agreed to meet at the right moment and at the appropriate level to consider the situation and take the relevant decisions. The report makes a review of the situation at the border between the Republic of Djibouti and the State of Eritrea and of relations between the two countries since mid-April 2008. The report also presents efforts made by the Commission to quail the tension between the two countries and settle the dispute between them. It concludes with a number of observations.
