AMISOM donates assorted medical supplies to flood victims in Jowhar region
Mogadishu, 9th May 2013-The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has donated 21 boxes of assorted medical drugs to the Governor of Middle Shabelle, Honorable Abdi Gino Alasow. The donation was made following an assessment mission on April 25 conducted by a team of AMISOM officers accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Jowhar and the Advisor of the Governor of Jowhar. The aim of the mission was to assess the scale of the damage caused by the flood which forced thousands of people to flee their villages.

London – May 9th, 2013; The Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) for Somalia, Ambassador Mahamat Saleh Annadif has asked members of the Somali community living in the United Kingdom to further contribute to the reconstruction of their country.

- President Robert Mugabe, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe,- Honorable Ministers and Senior Officials of the Republic of Zimbabwe,- Outgoing and incoming CISSA Chairpersons, - Heads of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa,- Members of the Panel of Experts,- Executive Secretary of CISSA and members of the Secretariat,- Ambassadors,- Dear Guests from Africa's friends and partners,- Ladies and Gentlemen, Allow me first of all to convey to President Robert Mugabe the warm greetings of Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, as well as AU's deep appreciation for his longstanding commitment to Pan-Africanism and the objectives of our Union. Chairperson Dlamini-Zuma deeply regrets that pressing commitments prevented her from being among us today. Indeed, as we gather here, she is briefing the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand on the state of our Union. She wishes to congratulate CISSA on the achievements recorded since its establishment, close to a decade ago, and encourages your Committee to pursue and deepen cooperation among the members of the African intelligence community, in support of the continent's efforts towards sustainable peace, security and stability.

The African Union strongly condemns the killing of the Paramount Chief of the Ngok Dinka Community and a United Nations Peacekeeper in Abyei
Addis Ababa, 5 May 2013: The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, has learnt with shock of the attack on the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei (UNISFA) that occurred on 4 May 2013, the very day that the Abyei Joint Oversight Committee (AJOC) had met in Abyei. This attack led, tragically, to the killing of Chief Koul Deng Majok, the Paramount Chief of the Ngok Dinka tribe of Abyei, as well as a soldier from UNISFA. The Chairperson condemns, in the strongest possible terms, this heinous crime, which threatens the stability of Abyei, as well as the progress recently achieved by Sudan and South Sudan in addressing their common security and socio-economic challenges.
