The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has donated 33 boxes of assorted drugs to the Somalia Federal Government
Mogadishu, 6 November 2013-The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) has donated 33 boxes of assorted drugs to the Somalia Federal Government as part of its ongoing humanitarian life saving need assistance. The donation follows a meeting between AMISOM and the Chief of Staff of the Somali Presidency on November 4th this year which observed that thousands of people affected by floods in Johwar require medical, food, shelter and logistical assistance.

405th meeting of the Peace and Security of the African Union on the situation in the territory of Abyei
The Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU) fielded a visit to Abyei from 5 to 6 November 2013 to mark its solidarity with the Ngok Dinka and Misseriya communities, as well as with the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) as part of its effort to promote peace, security and stability in the region.

African Union Commission and International Partners sign two MoUs to strengthen Peace and Security efforts on the Continent
Addis Ababa, 05 November 2013: Today, the Commission of the African Union (AU) and the International Partners, signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the African Union Headquarters, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, marking the renewal of two Joint Financing Arrangements. The first one provides support to the salary costs of the Peace and Security Programme of the African Union for 2013 to April 2015, while the second contributes to sustain the AU Liaison Offices in conflict and post-conflict countries, which covers the period 2013 and 2014.

Sixth meeting of the Support and Follow-up Group on the situation in Mali, Bamako, 2 November 2013
CONCLUSIONS 1. The Support and Follow-up Group (SFG) on the situation in Mali held its 6th meeting in Bamako, on 2 November 2013. The opening ceremony was marked by statements delivered by the Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, the President of the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Kadré Désiré Ouédraogo, the United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Hervé Ladsous, and the Minister of Justice acting on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mali, Mr. Mohamed Ali Bathily.
