Addis Ababa, 3 August 2013: The African Union (AU) High-Level Panel for Egypt, comprising former President Alpha Oumar Konaré of Mali as Chair, former President Festus Mogae of Botswana and former Prime Minister Dileita Mohammed Dileita of Djibouti, is continuing its consultations in Cairo.

On 1 August 2013, the Panel met with Prime Hazem el-Beblawi and Minister of Justice and National Reconciliation, Adel Abdel-Hamid. The Panel also met with representatives of the Muslim Brotherhood and affiliated parties in the neighborhood of Rabaa al-Adawiya, in Cairo.

Today, the Panel met with representatives of the Al-Nour Party, human right organizations and a group of intellectuals and writers, as well as the European Union (EU) and African Ambassadors.

The Panel is due to meet, for the second time, with the Interim Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, tomorrow, 4 August 2013.
