Addis Ababa, 5 April 2013: The Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union (AU), Ambassador Ramtane Lamamra, met today with Netherlands Ambassador -at -Large, Mr. Bob. Hiensch. 

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the situation in Sudan and South Sudan, as well as the situation in Mali and Somalia. Ambassador Hiensch gave full support to AU’s efforts in promoting and strengthening stability in the two countries and further lauded the AU for the progress achieved in Somalia. The Ambassador expressed his country’s commitment and continued collaboration in support of the African Union's peace building efforts.

The delegation included the Netherlands Ambassador to the African Union, Mr. Hans Blankenberg, Ms. Astrid de Vries, Coordinator for the Horn of Africa at the Sub-Saharan Africa Department of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Frits van Bruggen, Political Officer for the African Union at the Netherlands Embassy.
